Using your brand kit
Everything a day-to-day user needs: what to ask for, what comes back, and what the agent's notes mean.
What the kit does
Ask your AI agent for something branded and it follows the Miller Advisors brand exactly: the right logo file for the background, the palette, Raleway in the right weights, and your approved layouts.
The kit is a skill: a folder of rules, files and small programs that AI agents load when a request concerns Miller Advisors. It works in Claude Code and in other agents that support the Agent Skills format.
What it will never do
- Draw the logo. It places the master files only. It never redraws, recolors or asks an image generator for the logo.
- Pick colors by eye. When a design needs a color outside the palette, a fixed method derives it and a note tells you.
- Swap fonts quietly. If the brand font is missing it says so, and names the fallback it used.
- Invent facts. Names, titles, phone numbers and addresses come from you or your staff directory.
- Print warnings on your designs. Notes appear in the agent's reply, never on the artwork.
Getting started
Install the skill
In Claude Code, copy the
miller-advisors-brandfolder into.claude/skills/inside your project, or into~/.claude/skills/to use it everywhere. Other agents that support Agent Skills have their own skills folder; see that agent's documentation. In a chat product, uploadSKILL.md,brand.jsonand thereferencesfolder; the rules apply, but the checks cannot run there.Run the setup check
Ask your agent:
Check my brand kit setup.
It reports what works on your computer. This is the result on a fully set up machine:Brand kit setup check · Miller Advisors OK Python 3.8 OK logo files present (15 variants) OK brand rules unmodified · version 0.1.0 released 2026-09-19 by ADWORKS Canada OK fonts for HTML designs: Raleway · installed on this computer fonts for desktop apps (PowerPoint, Word): OK Raleway · installed on this computer OK renderer: Google Chrome (headless, network disabled) OK QR codes for email signatures Templates: email-signature Email signature social-post Social post, portrait (draft, preview only)
Make your first request
Ask in plain language, naming what you need:
Make an email signature for Greg Thomas.
The agent finds the approved template and tells you anything you should know about the result.
What you can ask for
Six typical requests and what happens with each.
Make an email signature for Greg Thomas.
Fills the approved signature with their details from your staff directory, adds a QR code that saves their contact, and reminds you to host the QR image.
Make a signature for our new analyst, Priya Nair, priya@miller-advisors.com, extension 5.
Builds it with the details you gave and suggests adding the person to the staff directory so the next request is one line.
Create a LinkedIn post: ‘Price is a promise you keep’.
Fills the social post template and renders a 1080 x 1350 image. While the template is a draft, a note asks you to treat it as a preview.
Design a poster for our spring webinar.
Builds it from the core brand rules, saves review notes next to the file, and recommends a professionally designed template.
Make a birthday card for Scott.
The greeting may use a warmer display font; everything else stays on brand. A note says so.
Make the logo red for the holiday card.
The logo is only ever used from the master files. The agent explains why and lists the approved versions.
Approved templates
For approved templates the agent designs nothing. It fills in the fields below and the layout stays exactly as approved. If text is longer than its limit, it may shrink slightly, never below the minimum your designer set.
Email signature Approved

|---|---|---|
| Full name | Required | 26 characters; shrinks to 90% at most |

Business card Press ready
The business card is the brand's one printed piece. Both sides are supplied as press-ready PDFs and should be sent to a printer unchanged. Ask for the card and the agent hands you the press file and the specification below. It does not redraw the card, and it does not re-export the PDF.
| Specification | |
|---|---|
| Trim | 3.5 x 2 in (88.9 x 50.8 mm), landscape |
| Bleed | None. Nothing in either design runs to the edge, so the artwork stops at trim. |
| Marks | Crop marks, registration targets and colour bars sit in a 0.46 in (11.6 mm) margin outside the trim. |
| Color space | CMYK with spot separations. Do not convert to RGB. |
| Resolution | Vector throughout, including the QR code. Scales to any size without loss. |
| Safe area | Keep text and the QR code at least 0.125 in (3 mm) inside the trim. |
The layout is approved, but each card carries one person's details and a QR code built from their contact card. Ask your brand designer for a press file for a new person rather than editing the PDF.
The M pattern
A single tile built from the monogram's own outline, interlocking so the M repeats without a visible seam. It is the brand's texture: it fills space and signals the brand at a glance, without ever standing in for the logo. Ask for a background or a textured panel and the agent repeats the supplied tile, holds it back to about 10% to 20% over indigo, 6% to 12% over light grounds, and keeps the logo clear of it. It never redraws the pattern and never scales a single tile up to fill a space.
Notes and stops
When the agent needs to tell you something about a result, it uses one of two kinds of message, always in the same format.
Every message
| Situation | Kind | Wording |
|---|---|---|
| Overflow shrunk | NOTE | "{value}" is longer than the space your brand designer set for the {field} line. To keep the layout intact, the text has been reduced to {percent}% of its standard size. For a version designed around this text, please contact Akin Tangun, ADWORKS Canada · akin.tangun@adworks.ca. |
| Overflow stop | STOP | "{value}" cannot fit the {field} line within the approved layout, even at the smallest size your brand designer allows. The {template} was not created. Please shorten the text, or contact Akin Tangun, ADWORKS Canada · akin.tangun@adworks.ca for a version designed around it. |
| Missing field | STOP | The {template} needs a {field}, and none was provided. Please supply it and ask again. |
| Bad format | STOP | "{value}" does not match the approved format for {field} ({rule}). Please correct it and ask again. |
| Unknown field | STOP | The approved {template} has no space for {field}. Adding it would change a design your brand designer approved. To have the template extended, please contact Akin Tangun, ADWORKS Canada · akin.tangun@adworks.ca. |
| Draft template | NOTE | The {template} template is still a draft awaiting your brand designer's approval. Please treat this result as a preview and do not publish it yet. |
| Derived color | NOTE | This design needed a color beyond the Miller Advisors palette, so {hex} was derived from {base} using your brand's color rules. It passes contrast for its use, but it is not part of the approved palette. If you plan to use it again, ask Akin Tangun, ADWORKS Canada · akin.tangun@adworks.ca to review it. |
| Occasion font | NOTE | For this {occasion} piece the headline uses {font} instead of the brand typeface. Body text, contact details and everything near the logo stay in {brand_font}. Please have it reviewed before public use. |
| Bereavement mode | NOTE | This piece uses the brand's condolence treatment: no accent color, no celebratory layout, and the brand typeface in its lightest weights. Please have it reviewed before it is shared. |
| No template | NOTE | Miller Advisors does not have an approved template for {medium}, so this was built from the core brand rules. Review notes are saved next to the file. For a professionally designed, approved version, please contact Akin Tangun, ADWORKS Canada · akin.tangun@adworks.ca. |
| Font fallback | NOTE | {font} is not available on this computer, so {fallback} was used. The result will not match the brand exactly. To install {font}: {install}. |
| Font missing stop | STOP | {font} is not available on this computer and this output must use the real brand typeface. To install it: {install}. Then ask again. |
| Integrity modified | NOTE | Some brand rule files have been changed since ADWORKS Canada released version {version}: {files}. Results may no longer follow the approved brand. Please contact Akin Tangun, ADWORKS Canada · akin.tangun@adworks.ca to review the changes or to reinstall the official version. |
| Missing core | STOP | The Miller Advisors brand skill does not define {what}, and guessing it would put an unapproved value into every design. Please contact Akin Tangun, ADWORKS Canada · akin.tangun@adworks.ca to have it added. |
| Logo request | STOP | The Miller Advisors logo can only be used from the supplied master files. It cannot be redrawn, recolored, resized out of proportion or generated by AI. The approved versions are listed in the brand skill. For a new logo variant, please contact Akin Tangun, ADWORKS Canada · akin.tangun@adworks.ca. |
| Palette request | STOP | {value} is not part of the Miller Advisors palette, and it is not a color the brand's rules can derive for this use. The nearest approved color is {nearest}. |
| Icon style missing | NOTE | Miller Advisors does not have an approved icon style yet, so no icon was generated. For a custom icon set drawn to the brand, please contact Akin Tangun, ADWORKS Canada · akin.tangun@adworks.ca. |
| Icon drawn | NOTE | The Miller Advisors icon set had no icon for {subject}, so one was drawn to the brand's icon style. It follows the rules, but it has not been reviewed by your brand designer. To have it drawn properly and added to the set, please contact Akin Tangun, ADWORKS Canada · akin.tangun@adworks.ca. |
| Image style partial | NOTE | The Miller Advisors image style is defined in words only, with no approved reference images yet. Results may vary between image tools. For a finished image direction, please contact Akin Tangun, ADWORKS Canada · akin.tangun@adworks.ca. |
| Host images | NOTE | The QR code for {name} was saved as {file}. Email signatures need hosted images, so upload it to the same place as your other signature images and replace its image address in the HTML before pasting. Please scan the QR code once with a phone to confirm it saves the contact. |
| Renderer missing | NOTE | This computer cannot render finished images, so the design was saved as an HTML file. Open it in a browser to view or print it. The setup guide explains how to enable rendering. |
Special occasions
When you name an occasion, such as a birthday, holiday, anniversary or condolence, the headline or greeting may use a different display font chosen to suit it. Body text, contact details and anything near the logo stay in Raleway, and a note tells you what changed. The agent never decides on its own that something is special.
| Occasion | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Celebration | A warm, open display face that sits well beside Raleway's geometry. Rounded or softly humanist. No novelty or comic faces. |
| Holiday | Same as celebration. Keep the brand's calm: one decorative line at most. |
| Bereavement | Stay in Raleway Light or a restrained serif. No scripts. No orange, including the logo: use the one-color indigo, black or white lockup. Indigo, white and near-black only. |
Getting help
Contact your brand designer for anything the kit refuses or flags: a new template, a new logo variant, a field a template does not have yet, or a professionally designed version of something built from the core rules.
Brand Skill Disclaimer
Everything this kit produces is generated by AI working within the Miller Advisors brand skill, the set of brand standards, approved templates and usage rules built by ADWORKS Canada. The skill keeps each design aligned with your brand, but it cannot confirm that names, titles, contact details or messaging are correct. Please give every piece a final review before it is printed or published.
